The Roof Garden Commission: Imran Qureshi

Artist Imran Qureshi transformed the rooftop of  the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York into an explicit war zone – flower and intricate patterns painted in blood red emerge from what looks like the scene after a bombing. Qureshi explained that the grand metaphor in the piece is that violence can obscure but not extinguish life.
