Statement: We wanted to see what outlooks people had on the world. Thus, we made a Doomsday Clock–a graphic used by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists to predict human extinction. Where participants placed their sticker signified their own prediction. Through this project, we hoped to gain a better understanding of how negative or positive people view the future to be.

Statement: We wanted to satirize and spark conversation about the way Penn names objects after donors — to do this, we asked students walking by to name any object they wanted. They wrote down their donation — which could’ve been serious or funny — and taped their newly-made “donor plaques” onto the object.

Statement: “Look Up” was intended to highlight how many people stare down at their phones when walking from place to place. Our public art installation was a larger-than-life reminder of how limited one’s field of vision can become when constantly looking down at a phone. The video shows how the public reacted. Statement: As the final season approaches people spend hours and hours studying and this usually causes depression and anxiety. Our idea was to prevent that by handing them positive affirmations in the form of stickers, such as: I create value, I am resilient, etc. People interacted and left with a smile on their faces.

Statement: Given the current news landscape, we wanted to create an interactive opportunity for people to project the headlines they wished that they saw in the news. Fake news is well known for its negative effects on the public, so we wanted to transpose that idea into something positive. Newspapers historically have been understood to be an objective news source; however, we understand the subjectivity inherent to any news media, so we wanted to project these fake headlines on newspaper-like boards to convey that idea.
